Danny Tenaglia

Danny Tenaglia nasce a New York il 7 marzo del 1961. Cresce ascoltando la salsa di Sergio Mendes, ma conosce presto il soul dell’etichetta Motown e la disco di Philadelphia. Inizia a studiare musica e a suoanre la chitarra e il sassofono. A 12 anni ascoltando delle cassette mixate nei club più importanti di New York, scopre il mondo dei dj e la tecnica del mixaggio, e ne resta subito affascinato. Crescendo, incomincia a frequentare i club di Manhattan. Al Paradise Garage , passa tutto il tempo ad osservare il dj Larry Levan che mette i dischi,e diventa cosi il suo preferito. All’età di 17 anni lascia la sucola, e comincia a mettere dischi in un locale chiamato Roller Palace, poi a Manhattan, prima allo Stix e poi al Crisco Disco.

Nel 1985 si trasferisce a Miami per cercare una svolta per la sua carriera. Qui diventa dj resident di un gay-club e nello stesso tempo da vita ad un suo nuovo disco , chiamato Waiting for a call, e realizza il suo primo remix per un brano dei Seventh Avenue the love I lost. Grazie a questo remix, il nome di Danny Tenaglia comincia a circolare nell’ambiente.

Nel 1990  ritorna a New York, e diventa dj del Sound Factory bar, locale importantissimo, dove in console con lui c’erano 2 dj già affermati : Tony Humphries e Little Louie Vega. Nel 1991 crea un altro disco  il remix di un brano chiamato harmonica track. Nel 1995, realizza il suo primo album “Hard Soul. tra il 1994 e il  1995, realizza una serie di remix importanti per Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones, Frankie Knuckles, e Jamiroquai.

Intanto diventa dj di un altro locale di New York il Twilo nato. Qui Danny Tenaglia, diventa famoso anche per i suoi set che durano spesso 10 ore. Negli ultimi anni Danny Tenaglia è diventato uno dei dj più importanti a livello mondiale.

Nel 1998, ha pubblicato il suo secondo album : Tourism. Fino ad oggi ha realizzato più di 200 remix, molti per artisti importanti come Madonna, per la quale ha remixato il pezzo human nature, Depeche Mode, con il brano I feel loved e poi : Janet Jackson, Blondie, Michael Jackson, Kim Mazelle, Celeda, New Order, Lisa Stansfield.
